Island Spirit
Practice-led research, 2019
In 2019, I started an MA in Art and Social Practice with University of Highlands and Islands, taught from the Centre for Rural Creativity in Shetland. It was an amazing experience and I learnt so much from the talented, generous and wildly supportive tutors, as well as from my wonderful peer group, without whom I simply couldn’t have done it.
These images came out of one of my first projects on the course, centred around conversations with my neighbours in Tiree about what it means to live on an island; what collective values are most important to our existence here?
